Can I Program AI and ML on a Tablet Instead of a Laptop?

I'm diving into the field of artificial intelligence and I'm using Python along with libraries like NumPy and Matplotlib. Since I don't have a ton of programming experience, I'm unsure about what skills I'll need in the future. Recently, I've been drawn to the idea of portability and good battery life, so I'm curious whether I can effectively do programming on a tablet like I do on my laptop. What are the pros and cons of this setup? I prefer using Android, but I'm open to Linux if that's an option. Would I run into significant drawbacks?

The issue with Android tablets and Chromebooks is that they can be quite restrictive. You’ll often have to install apps from Google Play, which can complicate things if you need specific programming tools. It can definitely be a challenge.

Yes, programming on a tablet is possible, but I wouldn't call it ideal. You're better off with a laptop for a smoother experience.

If you connect a decent keyboard and mouse and have an adequately sized screen, you could probably code effectively on a tablet. However, if you can’t use a mouse or keyboard, it’s just not worth the hassle.

I strongly advise against doing serious programming on a tablet. Managing AI and ML projects demands local resources and a bit more power, which you won’t get from a tablet. Consider getting a lightweight laptop instead.
