I used to be really into competitive programming back in high school, and I dreamed of studying computer science. However, the situation for IT in my country isn't great, so now I'm pursuing a degree in medicine. Recently, I found out about Coursera and their certificates that I could add to my CV. Do you think taking these online courses would help me build a programming career, or should I just focus solely on medicine?

Definitely finish your medicine degree first! Having that medical background can really make you valuable if you want to develop software related to healthcare. Understanding both fields could open up amazing opportunities for you.
I think it's great that you're considering both paths! Many people successfully combine medicine and tech. Online courses can supplement your learning and show your passion for programming, but don't rely solely on them if you want a solid foundation. Balance is key!
