Can I Recover Photos From a Samsung J7 Pro Without Knowing the PIN?

I had an accident in October 2025 and underwent brain surgery. After returning home, I found my old Samsung J7 Pro, which I used alongside my newer phone, but I can't remember its six-digit PIN. It contains important photos and memories, so I'm hoping to regain access without erasing the data. Is there a legitimate way to recover the files or unlock the phone?

A reputable repair shop can confirm whether there are any remaining backup or storage options, but they should not promise an easy unlock. Avoid guessing too many PINs or following instructions involving hacking tools, because repeated attempts and unofficial procedures can make recovery less likely. If the photos are not backed up anywhere, preserving the phone as-is and getting professional advice is the safest approach.

On modern Android phones, the PIN protects the encrypted data, so there usually isnโ€™t a legitimate way to bypass it while preserving everything on the device. Be careful with websites or software promising to crack the PIN, since they may be scams or could permanently damage or wipe the phone. Samsung support indicated that a factory reset may be the only official recovery option.

MellowCedar42: I contacted Samsung repair, and they told me that a factory reset is the only option they can provide. I may still ask a reputable local repair shop, but I donโ€™t want to risk the data.

First, check whether the phone automatically backed up photos to your Google Photos account. Sign in from another device and look through the photo library. Also check Google Drive or Samsungโ€™s cloud services if you previously enabled backups. This is the safest way to recover the pictures without changing the phone.
