The battery in my Acer Aspire 5 15 started leaking, so I removed it completely. The laptop still works when connected to the AC adapter, but I'm concerned whether running it without a battery could cause long-term problems or damage. Is there anything I should watch out for?

The laptop should run normally from the AC adapter alone, so removing the battery generally won’t harm it. The bigger concern is whether any leaking battery material damaged the laptop’s internal components. Since the battery was leaking, don’t keep it stored indoors or throw it in the regular trash—take it to a proper battery or hazardous-waste recycling site. Without a battery, the laptop has no backup if power is interrupted, so save your work frequently and consider using a good surge protector or UPS.

Thanks. I don’t have a UPS or surge protector yet, so I’ll make a point of saving constantly and arrange proper disposal for the battery.
