Can I Share a Project I Built from a GitHub Project List?

I built a text editor in C using WSL, following a project idea from a GitHub collection of programming projects. I wrote the implementation myself, but the project idea and general guidance came from that repository. Is it okay to share the project on LinkedIn as one of my own projects, or would that be considered copying?

Yes, you can share it, as long as you’re honest about how it was made. Describe it as a project you implemented based on an idea or guide from that GitHub repository, and include a link or credit to the original source. Don’t imply that you invented the project idea or copied nothing if you followed someone else’s code. It’s also worth checking the repository’s license, especially if you used any of its actual code or documentation.

To clarify, I’m implementing the text editor in C myself using WSL. I mainly used the repository for the project idea and general direction, and I want to mention it on LinkedIn.
