I'm looking to see if there's any way to test out Claude Opus 4.5 or 4.6 on Azure without paying. I'm okay with entering a credit card or upgrading my account but would prefer to use free credits and be able to cancel before any charges hit.

This model is pretty pricey, and I doubt anyone is offering free trials. You're going to need to fork over some cash to use it.
Unfortunately, there's no way to try it for free. You'll definitely need to pay for the usage, and that's just how it is.
Another route could be to use a Databricks workspace for their foundational model serving, but it’s not guaranteed to be free. They might have a pay-as-you-go trial that offers a $100 credit.
You might try asking for some quota through Azure Foundry, but even then, you'd probably have to spend your $200 sign-in credits, and they might not apply to the models you're looking at.
You could also go straight to Anthropic. They have a $20 tier for Opus, but just keep in mind it's quite limited in token usage.
I don't think you can get free access to it. Being a third-party tool, Microsoft won't likely cover the costs for you.
