Check whether your exact motherboard revision supports USB BIOS FlashBack. If it does, download the correct BIOS from ASUS, rename the file exactly as instructed, place it on a FAT32 USB drive, use the dedicated FlashBack port, and press the FlashBack button. This can update the board without a working CPU installed. If your board does not support that feature, you’ll need a BIOS-compatible processor installed first or have a shop update it.
For the stuck cooler, warm the heatsink and CPU with a hair dryer, then gently twist the heatsink rather than pulling straight up. Dental floss can sometimes help cut through dried thermal paste. Avoid prying or using excessive force, and inspect the old CPU for bent pins before trying to reinstall it.
If you must use the 2700X to update the BIOS, you may be able to place the CPU and attached cooler back into the socket carefully, without fully mounting the cooler, just long enough to boot and flash the BIOS. Make sure the processor is properly seated and don’t run the system for longer than necessary, since the cooler won’t be secured.
