I have an ASUS ZenBook 14 running Windows 11 with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor and 16GB of RAM. The laptop doesn't appear to have any accessible RAM slots. Is there a way to upgrade the memory to 32GB, or is the existing RAM permanently attached to the motherboard?

Check the exact model number and, if you’re comfortable doing so, inspect the underside for a removable RAM module. If there are no slots and the memory is soldered, upgrading would require specialized microelectronics work and usually isn’t practical or cost-effective. Also, a USB drive adds storage, not RAM, so it won’t increase the laptop’s actual memory.

On many ZenBook 14 models, the RAM is soldered directly to the motherboard, so there isn’t an upgrade path after purchase. In that case, the laptop would have needed to be ordered with 32GB already installed. The exact answer depends on the full model number, since the ZenBook 14 line includes several different configurations.
