I found a Dell Inspiron 3670 at a thrift store for just $30! It has an 8th generation Intel i5 processor, which I know can be upgraded to a 9th generation i7. It also has 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SATA SSD, but I upgraded it to a 512GB M.2 SSD. Everything works great so I'm wondering if I can turn this into a gaming PC. Any thoughts on that?

Those thrift store PCs can turn out to be super fun projects! I'm all for it!
Definitely upgrade your PSU first! You might need a 24-pin adapter if you're looking to power a beefier GPU. Just make sure to get one that fits your case and check the length of the new GPU you want to install.
That's an awesome find! You can definitely turn that into a gaming PC. Just keep in mind that the CPU cooler can be a bit tricky, but it sounds like you got the hang of it. Also, check if you have an available PCIe slot and the wattage of your PSU—what's your power supply rated at?

The PSU is 250W, and none of the PCIe slots are being used. I had to remove the cooler to change the thermal paste, and it was pretty easy!
