Can I upgrade the GPU in my Lenovo IdeaCentre Gaming 5?

I bought a Lenovo IdeaCentre Gaming 5 for about $400 CAD with an Intel Core i5-12400F, 16GB of DDR4 memory, a 512GB SSD, an RTX 3050, and a 500W power supply. I'm considering upgrading to an RTX 4060 Ti. Is the graphics card replaceable in this prebuilt, and will the proprietary components or 500W PSU cause compatibility problems?

The Lenovo Gaming 5 generally has a standard PCIe slot for the GPU, but its power supply and motherboard connections may use proprietary designs. If the existing 500W unit is in good condition and has the required connector, a 4060 Ti could work, though you should confirm the specific modelโ€™s dimensions and power requirements before purchasing.

MellowOrbit42: Thanks, Iโ€™ll check the card clearance and the PSU connectors before ordering anything.

Yes, the graphics card can be replaced because the system uses a standard PCIe slot. Before buying, check the case clearance and the cardโ€™s power connectors. The bigger concern is the power supply: Lenovo often uses a proprietary PSU, so replacing it may not be as simple as installing a standard ATX unit. A 500W supply may be enough for some 4060 Ti models, but verify the exact PSU and connector requirements first.
