Can I Use a DVI to HDMI Cable to Connect a Monitor?

I'm trying to set up dual monitors using my GTX 1650, which has an HDMI and a DVI port. Right now, one monitor is connected via HDMI, but the second one only has HDMI and DisplayPort inputs. Is it okay to connect the second monitor to my GPU using a DVI to HDMI cable? I've also heard that DVI doesn't support audio. Is that correct? Thanks for any tips!

Yes, using a DVI to HDMI cable will work fine for your setup. Just keep in mind that DVI does not carry audio, so you'll need a separate audio connection if you want sound from that monitor.

I'd recommend using a DVI to DisplayPort connection instead.

Yup, you can use that cable! Just remember that DVI was designed without audio in mind, so it won't transmit sound. If you want audio, you'll need a separate connection to your monitor.

Got it! I'll just run an audio cable from my PC to the monitor.

Absolutely! DVI is essentially like HDMI 1.0, just without audio. If you have more HDMI cables lying around, you might prefer using them with a passive adapter. But ultimately, it comes down to personal choice.
