Can I Use a Dynamic Mic with My Laptop's Output Jack?

I have a laptop that only has an output jack, and I want to connect a dynamic microphone to it. Is there a way to make this work, ideally using that same output jack?

You can buy an adapter to connect your mic to the output jack, but it might not work perfectly since that port is usually meant for audio out and not input.

A decent USB DAC or sound card could also be a good solution. They offer mic inputs and can really improve sound quality.
