I accidentally purchased SO-DIMM RAM instead of DIMM RAM, and I'm curious if I can use an adapter to mix them together. I currently have two 8GB sticks running in dual channel. Is it even possible to run this configuration? I'm okay with the extra effort; I just want to know if it can work. Thanks!

It depends on whether your RAM is DDR4 or DDR5. I'm assuming it's DDR4 based on your mention of mixing RAM. While it might technically work, using a SO-DIMM adapter could create stability issues, potentially making it unable to boot. Even if it does boot, expect slower speeds than usual, so keep that in mind.

Yeah, it is DDR4. I've noticed that speed might not be a big problem after all, but I'm still concerned about mixing SO-DIMM with standard DIMM. It's all the same type of RAM, just different formats.
