I'm looking to back up my C: drive, which has Windows 11 installed, onto another drive in my system. My C: drive is 1TB. Can I use Clonezilla to create an image or a clone of my C: drive into a folder on a different drive, as long as that folder has enough space (at least 1TB)? Or does Clonezilla have specific requirements that would necessitate an empty destination drive the same size or larger than the source drive?

Yes, Clonezilla can clone your entire C: drive, but you need to ensure that the destination has enough space. You can indeed clone it to a folder, provided that the folder is at least 1TB. Just make sure to keep some free space—aim for 10-30 GB free on your original partition before cloning.

To clear up the confusion, Clonezilla typically copies the entire source drive to the destination. However, if your external 5TB SSD has enough space, you can do multiple clones. Just make sure to create separate folders for each clone, as Clonezilla might overwrite if you target the same location.
