Can I Use Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM with an AMD Motherboard?

I recently bought Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200MHz RAM from a friend, but I didn't check if it's compatible with my AMD system. The packaging says it's Intel XMP ready, and the Corsair website lists compatibility only with Intel's 6000, 7000, and 8000 series. Does this mean it won't work with an AMD motherboard?

You'll be fine using that RAM with your AMD setup! Just remember, AMD has their own version of XMP called EXPO. Just make sure to enable it in the BIOS once it’s installed.

Just to clarify, you actually can run XMP on many AMD boards as well. So if the RAM is only labeled XMP, you should still be able to use it without issues.

It really depends on the specific RAM and motherboard. Check what exact model of RAM you have and the motherboard you’re considering. If the RAM doesn't explicitly say it supports EXPO, make sure to get a motherboard that supports both XMP and EXPO to be on the safe side. You can always manually overclock it, just know it can take some tweaking to get it stable.

Thanks for the heads-up! I haven't picked out a motherboard yet, but I’ll make sure to look for one that supports XMP!
