I've recently purchased a new power supply unit (PSU) that has two 6-pin 12V ports, but my graphics card requires a standard 8-pin PCIe connection. Is it safe to connect the graphics card to the CPU or PCIe port on the PSU using the PCIe cables it came with? I'd likely need to buy a new cable since the PSU only came with one cable, and my GPU actually requires two connections. Additionally, instead of buying a new cable, would it be possible to use a 6-to-8 cable with a peripheral port instead? I had an old PSU that used a 6-to-8 adapter, but I'm unsure if it was connected to the peripheral port.

It's generally not a good idea to mix and match PSU cables. Always use the cables that came with your new PSU. If your graphics card is a high-power model, like one that consumes over 250W, I'd recommend getting a PSU that natively supports it rather than trying to make quick fixes. Safety first!

Just to clarify, is it a 5700? I’ve heard that model has three fans.
The PSU is an MSI R1250GS and I think my GPU is a Sapphire Nitro 570, but I'm not completely sure.
