Can I Use My Dual Tower CPU Cooler Without the Middle Fan?

Hey everyone! I've recently upgraded to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and I'm using a Peerless Assassin 120 cooler. I'm having a tough time fitting the middle fan due to cable issues, as my PC case is on the smaller side. I plan to get a larger case soon, but for now, is it safe to run the cooler without that middle fan? I can still use the two outer fans, one of which I can position over the RAM.

It’s safe to run it without the middle fan. However, I’d suggest checking your cable management. I had similar issues, but I managed to tuck some cables under the cooler. Sometimes re-arranging the cable layout can create more space.

Yeah, you'll be okay using it without the middle fan for now. It's definitely not the best setup, but it won't cause any immediate damage. Just keep an eye on your temperatures. Since you're still using the outer fans, you should be fine for a couple of weeks.

You should be alright. Modern CPUs will generally throttle themselves before hitting any dangerous temperatures. Plus, if your case has good airflow, it’ll help a lot.

If your case has high airflow, it should work just fine. I've had my cables behind the cooler in a tight spot and it worked without overheating. You might also want to connect the fans to the motherboard header in a way that keeps them tidy.
