Can I Use My Wife’s Chromebook to Boost My CachyOS Performance?

I have a couple of Chromebooks running CachyOS, one for me and one for my wife. She doesn't use her laptop as much as I do, so I was wondering if there's a way to enhance the performance of my device by utilizing hers while it's idle. Is clustering or some sort of performance sharing feasible with CachyOS?

Are you talking about a setup like dual GPUs? Because that might not be what you're looking for. When I multitask, like running Zoom and screen sharing, my laptop often slows down too. It can be frustrating trying to juggle those resources.

While Linux does support clustering, it comes with its own set of challenges. Setting it up for high availability requires solid technical skills, so keep that in mind before diving in. You might want to look at general performance tips for CachyOS instead.

Clustering isn't going to boost your performance the way you might be thinking. It's useful for tasks that can be run in parallel but doesn't really help with general multitasking. Unless you can use SSH to run tasks on her Chromebook that actually streamline your work, clustering isn't going to solve your slowdown issues.
