I lost my DJI Osmo Action 4 while canyoning about four months ago. It fell into a pool roughly 2–3 meters deep, and I couldn't recover it at the time. When I returned recently, the water level had dropped to around 50 cm, and after moving some rocks we unexpectedly found the camera. It looks dirty but otherwise surprisingly intact. The battery isn't visibly swollen, and all the doors are still closed. I haven't powered it on, opened anything, or tried charging it yet. Is there any realistic chance it still works, and what should I do next—or avoid doing? Even if it never powers on, I'll probably keep it as a souvenir since finding it felt like closing a difficult chapter in my life.

That’s an incredibly lucky recovery. I’ve heard plenty of stories about people finding lost action cameras years later, so it’s definitely worth drying and testing carefully rather than assuming it’s dead.
I’d open the accessible compartments, let the camera air out, and place it in a sealed container with plenty of desiccant packs. Once it has had several days to dry, try external power before relying on the old battery. There’s still a chance, but powering it too soon could finish off components that might otherwise survive.
