Hey everyone! My friend is eager to join us for some gaming, but his PC is quite dated and really budget-friendly. We're hoping to get some advice before we dive in.
Here's what he's working with:
- GTX 1050 Ti 4GB
- Intel i5-3470
The games we're usually playing include:
- CS2
- Minecraft Java (with minimal mods)
- Rainbow Six Siege
- Valorant
So, do you think he can achieve 60+ FPS in these games on low to medium settings? Any insights or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Honestly, there aren't a ton of benchmarks for this mix of older hardware and current games. Plus, you didn’t mention the resolution, which plays a big role in how demanding the games will be on the GPU. At 1080p, I wouldn’t expect all of them to perform smoothly on medium settings, especially for newer titles.
From my experience, the GTX 1050 Ti should manage 60+ FPS in CS2 and Valorant on low settings, especially if you're willing to tweak some graphics options. Minecraft Java often runs well even with a few mods, so that should be fine too. Just keep the settings dialed back and hopefully, your friend can keep up with the rest of the crew!
