Can Recording GIFs on My iPhone Infect My Device with a Virus?

I recently started using the GIF recording feature on my iPhone 14, and I've heard some scary stuff about getting viruses from downloading GIFs. I'm curious if recording my own GIFs could somehow lead to getting a virus on my phone or any other device. What do you think?
