Can Recording GIFs on My iPhone Infect My Device with a Virus?

I recently started using the GIF recording feature on my iPhone 14, and I've heard some scary stuff about getting viruses from downloading GIFs. I'm curious if recording my own GIFs could somehow lead to getting a virus on my phone or any other device. What do you think?

No worries, you can't get viruses from just screen recording. That's a common myth! The only way you might encounter problems is if you're downloading GIFs from sketchy websites or apps, but recording them yourself is safe.

I totally get your concern! Sometimes, if you're scrolling through GIFs on an app or website, your phone might slow down due to the site being overloaded, not necessarily because of a virus. That's pretty normal! Just keep an eye on what you download, and you should be fine.

Thanks for the info! I was worried my phone was compromised or something, but it seems like it's just lag.
