Can someone help me build a gaming PC for around $2,500 CAD?

I'm planning to buy my first gaming PC and could use help choosing compatible parts. I'm considering a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, around 32 GB of DDR5 memory, and preferably an RTX 50-series or similar graphics card. A case or cooler with a small built-in display would also be a nice bonus, although it isn't essential. My main goal is to play most games at roughly 120 FPS, ideally at 1440p, with a total budget of about $2,500 CAD. I'm also confused about the "3D" in 7800X3Dโdoes it have anything to do with 3D modeling or printing? Would a prebuilt system be a better option?

A $2,500 CAD budget is enough for a strong 1440p gaming PC, but consistently reaching 120 FPS depends heavily on the games and settings. An AMD graphics card such as an RX 9070 or 9070 GRE may give you more performance for the money than a current Nvidia card. If you choose Nvidia, an RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB of memory could fit, but you may have to make compromises elsewhere. Prices can vary a lot, so comparing complete builds is worthwhile.

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is an excellent gaming processor. The โ3Dโ refers to AMDโs extra stacked 3D V-Cache, which adds more L3 cache for the CPU. It has nothing to do with 3D modeling, animation, or 3D printing. It mainly helps gaming performance by letting the processor keep more data close at hand.

For memory, look for a 32 GB DDR5 kit, preferably two matching 16 GB sticks. CL is the latency rating: lower numbers generally mean faster response times, although the memory speed matters too. DDR5-6000 with a latency around CL30โCL36 is a common sweet spot for a Ryzen gaming build; CL40 can still work, but it usually isnโt the best value unless it is significantly cheaper. A prebuilt can be fine if it clearly lists the exact motherboard, power supply, memory configuration, and graphics card. Avoid systems that only advertise the CPU and GPU while hiding the other parts. Cases with small screens and LCD-equipped coolers exist, but they are optional extras and can consume part of the budget without improving performance.

MellowPine47: What does the memory rating like CL40 mean, and would a prebuilt with similar parts be a reasonable choice?
