I'm considering an ultrawide 5K2K 120Hz monitor, such as the LG 40U990A or Dell U4025QW. I won't be gaming—this would mainly be for office work and general desktop use. Can the integrated graphics on a Ryzen 5 9600X run that resolution at 120Hz without a dedicated graphics card? I'm using a Gigabyte X870I motherboard and want to know whether the motherboard's DisplayPort or HDMI output has enough bandwidth.

The iGPU should be capable of handling normal 2D desktop work at that resolution, but the motherboard’s video-output specifications are the deciding factor. Check whether the X870I’s DisplayPort or HDMI port supports the required resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. A standard HDMI 2.1 implementation may not provide enough bandwidth, so DisplayPort could be the better option if the board and monitor support it.
It should work for browsing, productivity apps, and video playback, but a 5K2K 120Hz display is a fairly demanding output for an integrated GPU. Make sure the monitor is connected to the motherboard video output and verify the exact supported modes in the motherboard manual. You can also let the iGPU use shared system memory; reserving a huge amount manually usually isn’t necessary for basic desktop use.
