I haven't built or owned a PC in about five years, and I've never used an ultrawide monitor before. I'm considering the build in the linked parts list with a Radeon RX 9070 XT, and I'm wondering whether it will handle the 5K2K ultrawide display I selected. I generally play at High settings rather than Ultra. Will this setup provide a good gaming experience, and how well will it hold up over the next few years? Is there anything else I should reconsider before buying the parts?

The 9070 XT is capable of making 5K2K gaming work, especially with an upscaler, but I wouldn’t call the build truly future-proof at that resolution. Current graphics cards can struggle with demanding new games at native 5K2K, so you may need to lower settings or upgrade the GPU in a few years. If long-term performance matters more than maximum workspace, 3440×1440 would be the safer choice.
The RX 9070 XT should handle an ultrawide reasonably well, but the exact resolution makes a big difference. A 3440×1440 display is considerably easier to drive than 5K2K, and the card should perform very comfortably at 1440p ultrawide on High settings. If you want to keep a higher-resolution screen, you may need to use an upscaler or reduce some settings.
Ultrawide monitors are more demanding than standard 1440p, but they’re not automatically difficult to run. The important detail here is that your display is 5K2K rather than 3440×1440. That extra resolution puts a much heavier load on the GPU, so expect to use upscaling and possibly adjust settings in newer games.
