I've been putting together a roughly $1,700 gaming setup and want honest feedback before ordering anything. The target games are Minecraft, Fortnite, Rocket League, and Warzone at 1440p. I'm especially interested in whether the CPU and graphics card are balanced, whether all the components fit and work together, and whether I should change the memory, SSD, graphics card, power supply, motherboard, or cooler. I'm also unsure whether 16GB or 32GB of DDR5 makes more sense for this budget, and whether the case will make cable management difficult.

The planned cooling setup uses three reverse-blade RGB fans at the front as intake and three standard RGB fans at the rear as exhaust, with the front fans daisy-chained and the rear fans connected separately. There will also be RGB lighting on the CPU cooler and memory. I want the system to look good, but not if the fan arrangement hurts airflow. I'd also like to confirm that the 5V ARGB and 12V RGB connectors are compatible and that the motherboard has enough fan and lighting headers. Please be blunt—what should I fix before buying?

The overall idea is workable, but the graphics card is probably where the budget is being held back. At 1440p, I’d prioritize a stronger GPU and consider a Ryzen 5 7600X or 9600X depending on current pricing. The 7500F can still be fine, but don’t spend extra on the CPU if that money could move you up a graphics-card tier. A 32GB kit of DDR5-6000 is the better choice for a new gaming build, and make sure it’s reasonably priced—some of the listed memory options are wildly overpriced for what they offer.

The fan plan isn’t automatically wrong, but reverse-blade fans are easy to misunderstand. Check the actual airflow arrows on the fan frame instead of assuming “reverse” means intake. You generally want cool air entering from the front and warm air leaving through the rear, with similar pressure inside the case. Also verify that the lighting is 5V three-pin ARGB; never connect that to a 12V four-pin RGB header. Fan power and lighting are separate connections, so use splitters or a powered hub if the motherboard lacks enough headers. A case with included fans could save money and reduce the number of cables you need to manage.

A 650W supply should technically run this configuration, but a good 750W fully modular ATX 3.x unit is a smarter buy for the small price difference. It gives you more upgrade headroom and usually makes cable routing easier. Look for a reputable model rather than choosing based only on the wattage or 80 Plus label.

You don’t need to buy separate thermal paste if the cooler includes some. I’d also look at a dual-tower cooler such as a Phantom Spirit or Peerless Assassin if the price difference is small. They provide plenty of cooling for these six-core AM5 chips, although you should check the cooler’s height against the case and make sure the front fan can sit high enough over the memory modules.
