I updated my computer last night, and now when I boot it up today, I can't open the Start menu or access Windows Settings. The Windows key is unresponsive too. I even tried using the Run command to get into Windows Settings, but I encountered a "file system error -2147219196". I'm really stuck and could use any advice on what to do next!

Before diving into anything drastic, make sure you've backed up your personal files. If you have, then the recommended approach here is to do a Clean Install of Windows 11. You'll need to create a Bootable USB Drive using the Windows Media Creation Tool. Skip the reset and repair options; just delete all existing partitions during the installation process. This way, Windows will create the necessary partitions. Don't forget to keep Windows Defender updated to scan everything. Good luck!
Try this: Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring up the Task Manager. Once there, look for Windows Explorer in the list, right-click on it, and choose 'Restart'. That might help refresh everything. Give it a shot and let me know if it works!
