Hey everyone! I'm caught between the MSI Gaming Trio 5080 and the AORUS Master for my next build, and I'm looking for some input. Both cards are priced similarly at around $1600, so that's not a factor. However, I've heard some mixed reviews. I'm particularly worried about the AORUS Master since some users reported a strange noise when the fans stop and it goes into Zero RPM mode. They say it's usually quiet during operation but could be annoying when the fans turn off. On the flip side, people have praised it for being one of the quietest and best-cooled models with minimal coil whine.
As for the Gaming Trio 5080, I haven't found much reliable info. Some folks claim the current models aren't as good as the earlier ones, suggesting they're hotter and louder. There's chatter that this could be due to many people choosing the Gaming Trio over the Suprim, potentially leading to a downgrade in quality. Plus, I can't seem to track down the OC+ version anywhere, just the standard one.
I'm really interested in hearing about:
* Noise levels (both idle and under load)
* Coil whine experiences
* Temperature performance
If you have any experience with either card, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

The vapor chamber on the AORUS Master is a big plus, especially during heavy loads and max power settings. It definitely helps keep temperatures in check!
I have the AORUS Master and it's super quiet with great cooling. I haven't experienced any coil whine either, which is a relief!
That's great news! Have you noticed any strange sounds when it switches to Zero RPM mode? I've seen mixed reports about that.

Exactly! That's why I was initially leaning towards the AORUS. Just worried about that noise when it goes idle.
