Hi everyone! I'm considering upgrading my PC and I'm trying to decide between the 9800x3d and the 9950x3d for my CPU. I'm mainly looking to do some multitasking with streaming and recording at the same time, and I'm wondering if the 9800x3d, which has fewer cores, is capable of handling those tasks effectively. I'd appreciate any insights or recommendations you might have!

Honestly, either CPU will work for what you're asking. The 9800x3d is more than capable of handling streaming and recording, especially since many older setups have done just fine without the latest chips. If you're using encoding software, keep in mind that you can also offload some of that work to your GPU, which helps too!
The 9800x3d can definitely manage streaming and recording simultaneously, but if you have the budget, the 9950x3d would perform even better for those tasks.
You really don't need to stress over picking the 9950x3d just for multitasking. Many people are still successfully streaming and recording on older hardware, so the 9800x3d should suit your needs just fine. Plus, using features like the Restream Plugin for OBS can simplify things a lot by offloading some tasks.

Awesome, thank you for the tips!
