The computer has been working normally since the trip, with normal performance and temperatures. Could the vibration have loosened or damaged anything, particularly the large tower cooler or its mounting hardware? There’s never an absolute guarantee with electronics—an old computer can occasionally fail after being moved even when nothing obvious happened—but that’s uncommon. In your case, normal operation and temperatures after the trip indicate that the vibration probably did not cause any damage. You can simply keep using it and check that the cooler and other components remain firmly mounted during routine maintenance.
The graphics card is usually the component worth removing because its weight can stress the PCIe slot during movement. Taking off the glass side panel can also be sensible. For extra padding, bubble wrap should be kept around removed parts rather than pressed against components inside the running system.
I’ve moved a tower PC many times with a large air cooler installed. Laying the case on its side and securing or padding it with blankets and clothing worked well over several years of regular trips. Since your system was on its side and the GPU was removed, your setup was already relatively cautious.
If the PC is starting normally, running stable, and showing normal temperatures, that’s a very good sign. A short, careful car trip is unlikely to harm a properly mounted cooler or other components. I’ve transported several computers with the graphics card removed and never used the original foam without any problems.
