I had a random thought and wanted to ask—if we prevent users from copying and pasting in text boxes and text areas, would that really help reduce the amount of AI-generated content that floods our platforms?

Just because you thought of it in the shower doesn't mean it's a good idea. This wouldn't stop AI content and would just annoy your visitors instead.
Blocking copy-paste isn't really going to solve the issue. AI can easily simulate typing with the right tools, so all you're doing is making it harder for real users while not affecting AI at all.
Most of the AI-generated content I'm seeing is coming through APIs, so just blocking copy-paste might not have much impact at all. It's more of a battle between scrapers trying to pull data and website admins trying to protect their resources.
What makes you think that disabling copy-paste would be effective? It seems too simplistic to tackle a complex issue like AI-generated content.
Honestly, this seems like an inconvenient solution for your users. Why would anyone want to deal with such restrictions? It might just frustrate them instead.
