Could cleaning my phone with soap cause long-term damage?

I have a bit of a germ phobia and needed to clean my phone after someone touched it. I used wet toilet paper mixed with soap, trying hard to avoid letting any soap or water get into the charging port and other openings. I also stayed clear of the bottom of the phone but did wipe the power and volume buttons. So far, my phone seems fine and works well. Is there any chance I might notice damage down the line?

Most phones are designed to be somewhat water-resistant, so you should be okay. As long as the screen is properly attached and you avoided the major openings, I wouldn't worry too much!

I have the Android 14. Any idea if that model has good water resistance?
