Hey everyone! I've been playing Diablo 4 and recently noticed a lot of lag and stuttering during gameplay. Here are my PC specs for context:
- Motherboard: MSI MAG Z390 TOMAHAWK ATX
- RAM: 16GB of 3200 DDR4 (I just purchased an additional 16GB but haven't installed it yet)
- CPU: Intel® Core™ i9-9900K running at 3.60GHz with 16MB cache
- GPU: GeForce® RTX 2060 SUPER™ with 8GB GDDR6
Currently, my system uses about 80% of memory when I'm gaming. I'm wondering if buying more RAM was a good move, especially since I haven't noticed improvements yet. Any suggestions on how to improve performance would be really appreciated!

Make sure to check your hardware temperatures while gaming using HWinfo. If your CPU or GPU are running too hot, they could be throttling, which might be causing the stuttering. I recently had similar issues with my GPU running at crazy high temperatures. If that's the case, consider reapplying thermal paste if you haven't done so before.
So, just to clarify, you've got 16GB of RAM in your system right now and you bought an extra 16GB, but haven't installed it yet? Did you notice the lag before or after purchasing that RAM? Getting more RAM should help, especially with the memory usage you're seeing while playing.
Yeah, I know! I haven't put the new RAM in yet—just googled and saw that more RAM is usually a good thing.
Thanks! I’ll check the temperatures when I get home. What temperature should I aim for?
