Diagnosing a Strange Noise from My Girlfriend’s Computer

My girlfriend's computer has been making a weird sound for the last few days, and it's really getting on her nerves. She mentions that she can feel the vibration from the noise through her desk. It's a short buzzing sound that comes and goes in quick bursts. It's not very loud, but it's definitely annoying. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Could be something like coil whine? There are videos online that might help you check if that’s the sound you’re hearing. But if it’s a more intermittent vibrating sound rather than a steady tone, that might not fit.

Is it a laptop or a desktop? Also, what components are inside? I mean, if there are any hard drives involved, especially non-SSD ones, that could be an issue.

It's a desktop, the specs are: 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11400F, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super, 512GB SSD, and a Seagate external hard drive.

It could be a few different things. If it's an older computer with a hard drive, it might be an issue with that. Sometimes, faulty fans can also cause strange noises, or it might just be resonance, which used to happen with really cheap cases a long time ago.

If it comes off more as an intermittent beep rather than a consistent noise, then that points away from typical coil whine. It’s more about the vibration, right?
