I heard there were issues with DynamoDB on December 3 affecting the US East 1 and 2 regions, but I can't find any reliable news about it. AWS Health Status seems clear. Did anyone else experience problems or have any information about this?

I can't really speak for us-east-1, but I checked and there were no notifications on my dashboards for us-east-2 operations.

If you were affected, there should be a health event noted in your Personal Health Dashboard. Some apps did report issues with DynamoDB; metrics indicate sporadic increased latency, with spikes reaching around 1 second. Interestingly, our account management and technical account managers mentioned they would share more details soon.

There actually was an outage for a while. It turned out to be a DDoS attack, but thankfully, it was resolved pretty quickly.

Yes, it wasn’t a total outage but there was a significant increase in latency. We noticed a p50 latency of 5 seconds during certain periods, with p95 hitting about 10 seconds. I think AWS didn’t classify it as an outage since it was mostly a latency issue, but that's way above their typical performance, so I disagree with their assessment.
