Hey everyone! I was streaming something on a site called 123 movies, and accidentally downloaded a file named OperaSetup.zip. It looked suspicious, so I immediately deleted it from my downloads. I also clicked on a tab that led to a sketchy website. I've since run a scan with Bitdefender, and it didn't find anything. I'm worried because I didn't intend to download anything like that. Do I need to be concerned? Any advice would be super helpful!

Did you have to enter your password to install anything? If not, then you didn’t install it, which is a relief! Just be sure to stay clear of those kinds of sites in the future. You might want to consider using an ad blocker like uBlock Origin to block unwanted downloads.
If you didn’t run any program from that download, you’re likely in the clear. But always be careful with downloads from unfamiliar sites. It might just have been a setup file for the Opera browser, which could be why your antivirus flagged it. Keep your antivirus updated and review your settings to enhance your security.
Running a scan with Bitdefender is a good move! If you didn't actually open or run the downloaded file, you should be fine. Just downloading a file doesn’t mean it’s harmful unless it gets executed. However, it's good practice to be cautious about the sites you visit. Keeping your software updated and using ad blockers can help a lot to prevent these situations.
