Hey everyone! I recently purchased a 2TB Samsung 990 EVO Plus SSD, but I just learned that the 990 Pro might be a better option due to its DRAM. My main activities are web browsing and gaming. Did I choose the wrong SSD for my needs? Both models were priced the same for the 2TB version, and I've heard that DRAM-less SSDs can slow down when they're over 80% full. Also, I have a GIGABYTE X870 Gaming WIFI motherboard.

Your motherboard matters less here unless it's below a certain tier. As long as it's decent, you won't miss out on too much, and the 990 EVO Plus is quite good for general use.
The 990 Pro may be better on paper, but honestly, you're not likely to notice any real difference with your usage. For web browsing and gaming, either SSD will perform just fine.
In simple terms, don’t sweat it! You won't notice any performance dip in gaming or regular use. The differences are mainly in benchmarks, not real-life performance.
For what you're doing, it really won't make much of a difference. Unless you're constantly dealing with large files, the EVO Plus is a solid choice.
SSD with DRAM is beneficial mainly for workloads that involve a lot of random writes. Your use case doesn’t require it. Stick with the Plus; it should serve you well for gaming and general uses!
