DNS Issue After Upgrading to 24H2 โ Help Needed

Hey everyone, I recently upgraded my system to build 24H2, but now I'm facing a major issue with DNS resolution. No matter which DNS server I try (including Google, Cloudflare, and even local ones), every `nslookup` command times out. The rest of my network seems fine since I can still ping IP addresses and get an IP on my machine. I've tried flushing the DNS cache and resetting the network stack, but that hasn't resolved the problem. I also tried changing DNS settings both manually and through DHCP, but nothing worked, even after multiple reboots. Interestingly, rolling back to 23H2 fixes the DNS problem immediately. Has anyone else encountered this issue after upgrading to 24H2? Are there any known workarounds or fixes? I would really appreciate any help!

Try disabling IPv6 if you haven't already. Also, if you have access to a USB Ethernet adapter, give that a shot. Sometimes different interfaces can work around these issues.

I haven't experienced this exact issue before, but have you checked the event log for any clues? Also, make sure the DNS Client service is up and running. If you're still having trouble, consider disabling your firewall temporarily and see if that changes anything. Sometimes that can be the culprit.

If all else fails, consider uninstalling or disabling any software that automatically starts. Sometimes these can interfere with network settings after an upgrade.

This sounds similar to a problem I had with certain antivirus software, like VIPRE. Uninstalling it resolved my DNS issues. Even if `nslookup` and ping were broken, other apps were able to resolve DNS normally, which is odd. It might be worth checking if any security software is causing interference.
