Hey everyone! I just upgraded to an RTX 3090 from a 1080Ti and I'm wondering if I should use one or two power cables from my PSU. I've got two PCIe slots available on my power supply. Would one cable be sufficient, or do I need to use both slots? I want to make sure I don't risk damaging my GPU! I'll try to share some pictures in the comments too.

Do you have an extra cable? If so, just connect one cable from the PSU to each of the 6+2 slots on your 3090. That should work perfectly! What PSU are you using anyway?
It's best to use two cables for your RTX 3090! With just one cable, you're putting too much strain on it since it has to handle all the current. Spreading the load across two cables will keep things safer and more efficient. Definitely a good move!
That's solid advice! Plus, a single cable might lead to overheating over time, so two is the way to go.

Yeah, I have an extra one. I will use the first for one slot and the second for the other. Thanks for the help!
