Do I Need to Install Windows After Building My First PC?

Hey everyone! I'm super excited because I've got all my parts either bought or on their way for my first PC build. I've been gaming on a laptop for about four years now, so this is a big leap for me! I'm curious, once I finish assembling everything, does the PC come with Windows installed, or will I need to install it myself? Just to mention, the monitor I'm using is a temporary one, a 34" wide Spectre with a resolution of 3440 x 1440 and 165 Hz.

If you're getting the 7600x3d as part of a Micro Center bundle, that’s awesome! But just double-check that you have everything you need to start it up, especially if you're new to it. Good luck with the build!

Yeah, it might be a good idea to consider Windows 11 too! It’s a free upgrade if your hardware meets the requirements, and some people find it runs smoother than Windows 10. Just make sure your new parts can support it!

It sounds like you're really getting into PC building! Generally, you will need to install Windows yourself unless you buy a pre-built system or a bundle that includes an OS. Since you mentioned buying a Windows 10 CD, just keep in mind that you’ll need a working disk drive to use that. If you don’t have one, a more convenient option is to buy a Windows key online and use a flash drive to install it instead.
