Does Switching from 1440p to 1080p Lower GPU Temperature and Improve Performance?

I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 3700x with an NVIDIA 3070 graphics card on a 1440p monitor with a 165Hz refresh rate. I'm curious, if I switch to a 1080p monitor, will my GPU run cooler since it has fewer pixels to render? Also, will I see a boost in performance? Any insights would be appreciated! 🙂

Generally, a lower resolution like 1080p means your GPU has less work to do, so expect higher frame rates and possibly lower temperatures, up until your CPU becomes a limiting factor. It's really game-dependent though! You could also just tweak your settings instead of changing resolutions to save some hassle.
