Ethernet Says Connected, but My PC Cannot Access the Internet

Since the morning of September 2, my PC has been unable to browse the internet even though other devices, such as my phones, work normally on the same connection. Windows reports that the Ethernet connection is stable. I have already restarted the PC and tried many troubleshooting suggestions, but nothing has fixed the problem. The computer uses a Broadcom network adapter, so I am wondering whether this could be a Broadcom-specific issue or something else affecting only this PC. What information should I check to determine where the connection is failing?

Open Command Prompt and run `ping 8.8.8.8`. If you receive replies, the PC can reach the internet and the problem may be DNS or browser-related. If the requests time out, check the adapter, IP configuration, gateway, cable, and router connection. You can also run `ipconfig` and report the IPv4 address, default gateway, and DNS information without sharing any personal details.

More details are needed before anyone can identify the cause. Is the PC connected by Ethernet cable or Wi‑Fi? Do all websites fail, or only some? Do apps, games, messaging, or calls work? Also check whether the problem is constant and note any exact error messages. A connection can show as active while DNS, routing, or browser access is still broken.

The fact that other devices work does not automatically point to every Broadcom adapter having a problem. It could be a bad driver, incorrect network settings, a damaged cable or port, or a problem with the PC's DNS configuration. After collecting the ping results, try updating or reinstalling the Broadcom network driver from the computer or motherboard manufacturer's support page rather than assuming the hardware itself is defective.
