Hey everyone, I'm having a real issue with my iPhone 16 Pro and I'm trying to figure out if it's just me or if others are experiencing similar problems with iOS 26. I'm finding that scrolling feels really choppy and heavy not just in apps like TikTok and Instagram but even in the native settings and text conversations. It almost seems like the refresh rate is stuck at 60Hz or lower, instead of ramping up to the intended 120Hz. I did a side-by-side comparison with my mom's Samsung Galaxy A56 and even though the iPhone is supposed to be more powerful, the Samsung felt way smoother. My phone model is the iPhone 16 Pro with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM, and my battery health is at 92%. I've tried restarting and clearing caches with no luck. Is anyone else facing this "ProMotion lag"? Should I consider a factory reset, or is the software just problematic at the moment? I'm honestly thinking about switching to a Xiaomi 17 Ultra or S26 Ultra if I can't resolve this issue because for €1,200, it shouldn't perform worse than a mid-range phone.

I got my 16 Pro in April 2025, and I’m facing the same issues. Recently, scrolling has been choppy and definitely doesn’t feel like it’s running at 120Hz. It’s frustrating because it used to be much smoother. Not sure if it’s due to the new iOS 26 update, but it’s really getting to me. I expected a better experience for the money!
Happens to me too! When that lag kicks in, try opening the camera and then going back to whatever you were doing. It might help get the refresh rate back up to 120Hz. It’s a weird workaround, but people have mentioned it works sometimes!
I’ve had my iPhone 16 Pro since March last year, and I can relate! It was fine for the first few months, but after that, everything changed. The bugs and lag are super frustrating, and it even gets hot during normal use! Battery life isn't great either. If you’re considering getting one, I’d think twice because the performance has really dropped. For that price, it should be top-notch!
