Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a frustrating issue that's been plaguing my computer for quite some time. I've replaced almost all the components in my setup, which only leaves me with Windows and possibly a program causing the problem. My main issue is that it seems like a phantom input is being registered, almost as if the Alt or Ctrl keys are stuck, but keyboard testers show nothing when I check. This has been happening for years, even back when I was using Windows 10. I'm currently on Windows 11 Pro and even did a fresh reinstall, yet the issue is still here.
I have brand new peripherals, including an MX Master 4 and MX Keys keyboard, and I've cross-checked with alternative devices. Here are some examples of how this phantom input messes up my work and gameplay:
1. In Premiere Pro, I've noticed that my clicks and drags don't register correctly, and some of my mouse shortcuts don't work at all.
2. Photoshop shows similar issues where commands malfunction, leading to a poor experience.
3. In Chrome, I can't drag tabs out of windows, and it often hangs until I click somewhere else on the page.
4. During gaming, especially in titles like Dead by Daylight and Battlefield 6, my Xbox controller layout shows as keyboard keys, which stops me from performing certain actions.
I've tried resetting Windows and updating my BIOS, but I'm stuck because the issue is intermittent, happening maybe once or twice a day. Given that this is my work machine, I'm feeling quite desperate for help before I consider sending it out for professional repair. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might be experiencing a hardware or driver issue rather than a problem with Windows itself. Have you tried checking for driver updates, especially for your keyboard and mouse? Sometimes drivers can cause weird input issues like that, and updating them can resolve the problem. Also, consider looking for any software related to your peripherals that could be conflicting.
Also, sometimes background programs can interfere. Make sure there aren't any overlay programs running that could be causing input conflicts.
