Hey everyone! I'm facing a frustrating issue while gaming where my frames per second (FPS) suddenly plummet from 200+ to about 30-40. Along with this, I experience a static noise in my headphones and my entire PC lags. Restarting the PC seems to temporarily fix the problem, but it eventually comes back. I've tried several troubleshooting steps: I've changed the power supply unit (PSU), reinstalled Windows, reseated both the GPU and RAM, stress tested my CPU and GPU, and monitored temperatures during these drops (no throttling observed). I suspect it's a GPU issue because I've noted a significant drop in GPU usage from around 90% to 40-50% when this happens, as well as a decrease in clock speeds from over 2000 MHz to 500 MHz. Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 7600, 6750 XT, and a B650 gaming X AX motherboard.

It could be related to your drives. Sometimes performance issues arise from disk activity, especially if your drives aren't in great shape. Since your stress tests went smoothly, try keeping an eye on your disk usage when you're gaming. Have you checked your drive health using any tools? If it's fine, it might be worth looking elsewhere, but disk issues aren't uncommon!

Thanks for the insight! I checked my disk usage while gaming, and it looks normal. I ran CrystalDiskMark to check the drive’s health and everything seems fine. Any suggestions on how to test my SSD further?
