I recently bought a 1TB external hard drive, but it's only showing up as 465GB in my disk manager. The product description mentioned it was partitioned into two 500GB sections, but I can't see the full 1TB in the properties, and I can't extend the volume. I'm looking for some guidance on this issue. Also, I've contacted the store about it, and they suggested it might have been damaged during shipping.

Make sure to check where you bought the drive. Some brands are known for marketing smaller drives as larger ones. If you have a Visiquality 1TB drive and contacted the store, seeing if they can send a replacement sounds like a good plan.
What model is your external HDD? That might help in figuring out if it's genuine or not. Sometimes, fake drives are sold as higher capacity than they actually hold, so it's good to verify.
It sounds like you might want to check Disk Management for details. If it's showing only 500GB, you could have been scammed, and it could just be a 500GB drive inside. If it’s practical, consider opening the enclosure to see the actual drive, but keep in mind that would void your warranty.
