Feeling Lost in My Coding Journey – What Should I Do Next?

Hey everyone! I'm reaching out because I'm feeling really lost and could use some advice from those who may have faced similar challenges. I graduated last year with a BBA, but my GPA wasn't great. I jumped into a sales job right after, but that didn't work out—I quit after just a month since I really disliked the sales career. I thought a software development bootcamp, specifically 100Devs, could help me pivot my career. However, now that I've been at it for almost 10 months, I feel like I've hardly made progress. I've been relying heavily on AI to get through the course, which has left my understanding of JavaScript pretty shaky. I don't have any projects under my belt, and I'm really struggling with imposter syndrome. At 24, I feel like I'm falling behind. Should I stick with it and try to bolster my skills from the ground up, or is it time to explore a different career path? Any insights or advice would really mean a lot to me—thanks!

Honestly, relying so much on AI has really held you back. You’re not an imposter, but you need to build those skills yourself instead of looking for shortcuts. Try diving back into the basics without AI and work through the material on your own. The struggle is part of the learning process and essential for truly understanding programming.

Appreciate the honesty! What about not having a CS degree? Can you really make it without one?
