Fixing Proxy Authentication Error 2606 Without Internet

I'm currently in a location without internet access, and I'm constantly getting a "Proxy authentication error" message (error 2606) every 10 seconds. This issue makes it impossible to use my computer for work or leisure. The strange part is that this only happens when I'm offline, but my computer should be functional without an internet connection. I've tried a few things already, like turning off Wi-Fi, setting proxy detection to automatic in both the PC settings and browsers (Edge and Chrome), and even enabling airplane mode, but nothing has worked. I have a Lenovo Ideapad running Windows 11—any advice on how to resolve this?

Try flushing and resetting your network settings. Open the command prompt as an administrator and run these two commands: `netsh int ip reset` and `netsh winsock reset`. After running those, reboot your PC and see if that helps!

GadgetGuru47: I had the same issue before! Make sure to go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy and double-check the 'Use a proxy server' option is turned off.
