Fixing the Missing OSD Notification on MSI Laptops

Hey everyone! I need some help with my MSI laptop. I've got this button that switches between performance modes—AI, Extreme Performance, Balanced, and Silent—and while it changes the modes just fine, I've noticed that the on-screen display (OSD) animation is no longer popping up when I press it. This change seems to have happened after a recent Windows or MSI Center update. I've checked MSI Center and confirmed the modes are switching correctly, but I'm specifically missing that OSD popup. Does anyone know if this might be an issue with MSI Center, the OSD service, or the SteelSeries/Hotkey drivers? Any insights would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

It sounds like you might be missing some drivers for the MSI Center application. Make sure you've got the latest version of MSI Center installed—sometimes that can contain updates that fix bugs like the one you’re experiencing. I’d recommend checking the app for any driver updates as well.

I actually have MSI Center up to date along with all drivers. Still no OSD popup.
