I'm really at my wit's end here! My computer connects to the internet via a TP-Link wireless device, which is linked to an Eir router. For the last five years, my internet has been cutting out randomly and frequently, and I've tried everything I can think of – restarting everything, changing cables, updating the firmware – but nothing seems to work for more than a day. I'm so fed up that I'm ready to throw my router out the window! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I haven't yet tried, I would greatly appreciate it.

It’s really crucial to know if it’s your Wi-Fi dropping out or just the internet. They require different troubleshooting steps, so focusing on that could save you a lot of time.

You might want to give your provider a call. Their tech support can sometimes pinpoint issues that aren’t immediately visible. They might be doing maintenance or have service disruptions in your area.

I had a similar issue with my old provider, and everything changed once I switched to fiber. The stability has been amazing since then. Just a thought if you’re considering options!

Could you clarify how exactly your TP-Link device is set up? Is it directly from the router to a modem or is it part of a more complex network setup? If you could bypass the wireless bridge and connect your computer directly to the router temporarily, that might help determine where the issue lies. If everything seems fine then, it could point to problems with the wireless bridge itself.

Are you experiencing just internet drops or is it a total connection loss? If it’s solely the internet cutting out, the issue might not be with your home network setup but rather something going on with your ISP's end.
