The crash isn't a typical blue screen—the display becomes partially black, with one side of the screen affected before the system crashes or stops responding. What should I check next?

The partial black screen sounds more like a graphics-related failure than a normal game crash. It could be the GPU, its driver, overheating, a loose power connection, or even the display cable or monitor. Check GPU temperatures while gaming, reseat the graphics card and its power cables, and try another cable or monitor if possible. Also note whether the computer reboots, freezes, or shows a blue screen after the display glitches.
Check Windows Event Viewer after the crash. Open it by searching for “Event Viewer,” then go to Windows Logs > System and look for errors or critical events at the time the crash happened. The messages may point to a graphics driver, GPU, power, or hardware problem.
